These lessons are for both beginning and intermediate students of Indian music, and will also be useful for those musicians who have a background in Western music and would like to explore Hindustani music. Jeff Whittier began his formal study of bansuri in 1971 at the Al Akbar College in San Rafael, California with G. S. Sachdev. He lives and teaches in Silicon Valley and frequently performs throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a master flutemaker who made the instruments played by Hariprasad Chaurasia on some of his Nimbus recordings. He also makes flutes for the Ali Akbar College and G. S. Sachdev's students.
